Other than the Chi(sooo expensive)are there any other really good hair straightener irons that you recommend?

mine is conair.... $15 bucks at the grocery store for a one inch ceramic plate... i think they make em up to five inches. jsut make sure you use a very good conditioner and you'll be fine... and don't set it on a higher setting than you need!!!Other than the Chi(sooo expensive)are there any other really good hair straightener irons that you recommend?

i loooove my straightener.its the infiniti by conair.it works like a chi but is only $40!
Wow...everyone wants to know about flat irons today!

Chis are very over rated in my opinion. I have had several die out after only a short while. And, some people think they are getting the same product if they buy the cheaper Chi...nope..you will just fry your hair. And I know a lot of stylists and none of them use Chis anymore.

My favorite flat iron so far is the Paul Brown Hawaii. It just makes the hair super smooth, shiny and soft. My friend uses the Sedu on all her clients and she really likes that one. GHD are also good, but those are going to cost even more than the Sedu or Paul Brown.

I guess its just personal preference, but since they are pricey, you should do your research. I always tell people to research them and read the reviews on www.folica.com.

Good luck :)
Hey';

I would really recommend GHDs but they are quite expensive!!

However Babyliss is brilliant卢

I would really recommend those!

hope it helps!

gawjux gal xx
I didn't want to buy a Chi either because it was too expensive.

I use pro-select. I think it works wonders. I got it at TJ Maxx for 30 bucks and the retail price was 60 or higher. On the box it says 150. But, if you straighten your hair often, just get the Chi. It would be a good investment in the long run.

If i can use my flat( hair straightener)iron in India do i need to use a converter, adapter or something?

If the voltage for your straightener is 220V then you will be fine. If not, you need to use an adaptor to change the current from 220V - 110V. This is easily available in any electrical shop in India, so you wouldn't need to carry it on your journey.

Alternatively (and this could save you some cash), go to a beauty parlour and let them do the hard work for you =).If i can use my flat( hair straightener)iron in India do i need to use a converter, adapter or something?
yes if you are getting your irons from USA then you have to buy a transformer to convert the Voltage from 230 V to 110 V...

Be careful before plugging any electrical appliances purchased in USA and brought to India.........If i can use my flat( hair straightener)iron in India do i need to use a converter, adapter or something?
i dont know, what are the electrical outlets like in india?
If your flat iron is dual-voltage, it will say so on the label. It might have a switch you have to flip. If it is, an adapter should be fine, but you're taking a risk. I blew up my hair dryer that way, but it was cheap and could have just been ready to blow anyway.

Your best bet is to use a transformer, which is a huge, heavy, expensive thing. It plugs into the 220 outlet and converts it to 110 power.
It depends what your voltage and plug is on the straighteners you have.

From experience of taking straighteners to foreign places I have found them to not work as well as at home due to the voltage changes etc..

Could you not go Au natural whilst in India?

Have a look on the link to see if your country has an adapter for India.
It will be cheaper to buy a straightner in India - $5 and give it away when you leave saves you on carrying a wrong type and you will give happiness to someone. Voltage is 250 volts and it is round pin plug two or three pins

  • Will using a hair straightener/iron too often cause permanent damage to your hair? If so, will it grow back?

I recently bought a Sedu Hair Straightening Iron and have been using it for about a month every week or so. At first, I loved it because I got stick straight hair and it was shiny and healthy-looking. I turned the heat pretty high and you could hear the iron sizzle as it made contact with my hair (is that a bad thing?). Now I've noticed my hair at the front seems to be thinning or it doesn't seem as dense as it used to be. I know using a hair iron too much will damage your hair. I want to know if I stop using the hair iron for a certain time, will my hair grow back? Or is the damage permanent?! Please tell me no! Thanks! Will using a hair straightener/iron too often cause permanent damage to your hair? If so, will it grow back?
using the iron does damage the hair but it's never permanent. your hair is always growing and thus you're always getting a hair cut to get rid of this frizzy, split ends. Don't worry. If you want to improve it use a better conditioner to protect against the heat and keep your hair moisturized. If you want to, you can even take a break from the iron a few months and blow dry your hair. it won't be stick straight but you can at least put it in cute updos to hide it. a few months should give your hair time to grow out that damaged hair and have a full head of shine. Will using a hair straightener/iron too often cause permanent damage to your hair? If so, will it grow back?
Well I always use a flat iron because my hair just would look horrible without it but I know people who have had bad experience with flat irons. It really depends on your hair and how strong it is. Some hair can't take the heat and will immediately dry up and look really damaged. My friend's mom's hair was like that and she ended up cutting off most of her hair and it grew back fresh and new lol. But i dont think you want to do that.
Your hair will grow back. Never turn a hair appliance on high ever. Even if your hair doesn,t burn ,heat drys out your hair and you could end up with a bad case of the frizzies, anyways. The best hair appliances that iron out hair are ceramic plated ones. Trying not to use your straightener too often, just once a week or so is good, just like you,ve been doing.
it depends on how high you put it on and sorta how much you damaged it.and if you use lots of shampoo everyday then your hair might grow faster and back but shampooing your hair everday isn't heathy for your hair cauz it's still needs the fresh vitiam form the air
The iron sizzles probably because you're using it after you shower, and your hair isn't completely dry yet. Straightening your hair too much can burn it, and will definitely give you split ends. It can also thin out your hair.
if you use a straightner too much it will cause split ends, you should try spraying in some product before you straighten, try CHI Iron Guard it will protect your hair from the extreme heat. the sizzling that you hear is probably wetness or moisture in your hair
It would depend on how much you damaged it.
    it does damage your hair
It should. Are you using a good treatment with your iron? You must use it. They make special stuff for it. Any time you hear a sizzle...you are take moisture out of your hair. Are you using it on wet hair. Never use any iron on wet hair. Now if your using a product, and not letting it dry, then that may be the sizzle, but if your not, then what you are hearing, is moisture coming out of your hair. After time, that causes hair breakage, which isn't good. Turn it down on the lowest setting, to straighten, and don't let it set on your hair. Go at a steady pace downward.

What is the best HAIR STRAIGHTENER IRON ?

    Chi ? Babyliss ?

Honestly you don't need to spend a fortune on hair straightners. I have had about four different ones including a GHD and the best one i've ever had and still have is a Conair Ceramic hair straightner which i got at Boscov's for around $30.00.
    ion or tool science.

    chi tears up real quickly.
Remington are the best, im a guy by the way
    Neither, GHD's are top
    a conair one

    it costs 100 dollars

dont know it, dont care for it. the sedu is my love.

    Which hair straightener(iron) should i get??!!!plz help!!?

i want that thick straight hair look ,where each hair strand looks thicker, does it automatically look when u straighten ur hair or is there something special i need to do....plz answer my question n which hair straightening iron should i get without spending much??!!!n how do Conair irons work?are they good enough?Which hair straightener(iron) should i get??!!!plz help!!?
Hair thickness depends on your hair not an iron. If you think it's too thin try a volumizer then style. Personally I don't like conair for over the counter irons, try Revlon or Andis. They're inexpensive, but with better results.Which hair straightener(iron) should i get??!!!plz help!!?
ok to be honest Conair irons suck. It makes your hair straight for two seconds and then something rly weird like walking down stairs takes the straightness out of your hair.

I have a HairArt flat iron, and it was the best money I have ever spent. I got it on Amazon for $80 and it was totally worth it. It can straighten, curl, and flip my hair. However do not use any kind of gel or spray before, because at the end of the day when you are brushing your hair out and hear your hair making noises. You are literally ripping the hair out of your head. One product that you can use is Sexy Straight Hair. It works rly well, and doesn't make your hair look greasy. Most of the time you don't need this, because the flat iron makes your hair straight without it.

Don't get a Chi, whatever you do don't get a Chi. They may work rly, rly well for the one month they last. But they brake or the plate comes out. Also don't get a Bedhead straightener. They make your hair smell like plastic, and it doesn't straighten your hair.

For a little bit more money you can go to target and get bed head. It's great. I've used Helen of Troy from Salley's that is pretty good and around $30. Some times T.J. Maxx has really good ones like Chi and Metropolis ones for really cheap. I bought a Metro one for $45.00, and it's the best I've ever used! For the thickness look. Use a thickening product and blow dry your hair upside-down with a round brush. Then straighten it.

i have it i love it better then my sisters CHI i had a chi and not even 6 months later one of the hot plates sliped off and burned me i love the sedu it leaves my hair nice and shiny :)
conairs are worthless. 10 minutes later your hair is back to the way it was. the CHI is the way to go. its expensive but its so worth it.
